POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Financial Planning Specialist is a hybrid position, with both in-office and work from home time each week. This role supports financial planning processes and focuses on proactive client relationship management. You will work directly with senior financial advisors, clients, and prospective clients. The successful candidate will report directly to the Founder & CEO, and works closely with all departments within the organization.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the position include a cross-section of Financial Planning and Investment Managment, including but not limited to:

  • Prospective Client Relationship Management
    • Join prospective client meetings as an active participant in the sales process.
    • Participate in new client onboarding meetings.
    • Draft meeting materials for prospective client meetings.
    • Support preparation of meeting materials for complex prospects.
    • Assist with the management of prospect pipeline.
  • Current Client Relationship Management
    • Join client review meetings as an active participant in the relationship management process.
    • Draft client meeting materials.
    • Proactive & ongoing review and coordination of clients' finacial planning needs.
    • Debrief & coordination of follow-up tasks needed post-review meeting.
    • Create & review reports.
  • General Financial Planning and Administrative Support
    • Gathering & entering data into the CRM system.
    • Generating cash flow projections, social security analysis, etc.
    • Understanding of various elements of the financial planning process.
    • Prepare client review follow-ups.
    • Produce error-free documents and correspondence.
    • Adhere to Firm and Financial Planning Team best practices.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required for this role, ideally in Finance or other similar field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial planning/investment management role, or undergraduate study and internship experience from a financial planning degree program.
  • Fully Licensed preferred: VA L&H, SIE, Series 7, & Series 66, or required within 3 months of hire.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with the following software programs a plus:
    • Tamarac
    • Microsoft CRM
    • Morningstar Prinicpal and/or Morningstar Direct

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels staff, up to and including C-suite leadership
  • Sales skills a plus
  • Strong analytical background that includes analysis of complex client situations
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication prospects, clients, and Cassaday staff
